The Housing Executive is now recruiting for a Senior Solicitor to join their Legal Services team.

Grade: Band 8
Reports to: Head of Legal Services
Location: Housing Centre, Belfast, with regular travel throughout NI
Job Purpose
In this role you will provide professional timely legal advice, legal assistance and legal representation in relation to complex, high value contract and commercial matters, including associated claims and disputes, ensuring the provision of a high quality legal service to all levels of the organisation.
Essential Criteria
- Possess a degree or equivalent (Level 6) qualification.
OR
Level 5 qualification or equivalent
AND
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a general administrative environment
- Be a solicitor of the Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland qualified to practice in Northern Ireland.
- Can demonstrate at least 5 years’ post-qualification experience providing legal advice and/or representation relating to complex and/or high value contract and commercial matters, including claims and disputes.
- Can demonstrate:
- Excellent analytical thinking and decision making skills
- Strong organisational skills in order to manage a busy caseload
- Ability to work well under pressure of multiple deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills
- Willingness and ability to work collegiately
- Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full.
Desirable Criteria
- Can demonstrate relevant experience in any of the following areas of law:-
- The application of the Public Procurement Regulations and related disputes
- Employment matters
- High value litigation or complex or significant litigation within the Chancery, High, or Judicial Review Courts
