Pauline has earned an international reputation as a pioneer in the family-friendly, interdisciplinary, values-based team approach to family breakup and restructuring that is known as Collaborative Divorce, not only offering skilled collaborative legal representation to her own clients but also teaching the interdisciplinary collaborative method to lawyers and other professionals (mental health and financial) across the world. For that work the American Bar Association in 2002 conferred upon her its first Lawyer as Problem Solvers award. Collaborative Practice California ("CP California") awarded her the "Eureka" Prize for leadership in collaborative practice.
Her work focusses on integrating understandings from the neurosciences, positive psychology, cognitive and social psychology, behavioural economics, neuro-morality, restorative justice and traditional body/mind awareness practices into conflict resolution work, to enrich and deepen the work of all lawyers and their colleagues. She writes, speaks, trains, mentors and teaches workshops worldwide in both integrative conflict resolution and interdisciplinary team collaborative practice.
Since 1998 she has given more than 200 collaborative training and workshops at all levels, for lawyers and interdisciplinary teams across North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, continental Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Israel and South Africa.
All her trainings integrate "neuro-resolution" concepts and skills, using didactics, video demonstrations, roleplays, discussion and critique in a fast-moving, lively format that wins high praise.
Pauline wrote the first book about Collaborative Law: Collaborative Law, Third Edition: Achieving Effective Resolution Without Litigation (American Bar Association, 2001, 2008, 2016).
