The Law Society of Northern Ireland unreservedly condemns the invasion of the Independent Republic of Ukraine by the armed forces of the Russian Federation and calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the withdrawal of Russian forces from the territory of Ukraine.
In a statement issued on Thursday morning, the Society's President, Brigid Napier, said that "The invasion of Ukraine is a flagrant violation of international law and will cause unpardonable suffering to the civilian population and give rise to a humanitarian crisis."
The Law Society of Northern Ireland will be publishing a list of Solicitors who have offered to provide free legal help for Ukraine nationals currently living in Northern Ireland who are trying to bring family members out of hamas way.
