NIJAC is inviting applications for the office of Master (Matrimonial).

It is intended to make one appointment and to maintain a reserve list for 12 months from the anticipated date of appointment (1 September 2026).

It is anticipated that this Master will ordinarily discharge their functions primarily as Master (Matrimonial) of the High Court. Where workload or other business needs dictate, the Master may from time to time be required by the Lady Chief Justice or Presiding Master to discharge the functions of a Master in another jurisdiction of the High Court.
 

Eligibility:
To be eligible for appointment as Master (Care and Protection) is to, by 1 September 2026, be:

  • A member of the Bar of Northern Ireland of at least seven years’ standing; or
  • A solicitor of the Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland of at least seven years’ standing.

Salary: £173,854 per annum. This post is pensionable.
