Northern Ireland is delighted to host the 31st 5 Jurisdictions Family Law Conference

Itinerary:

Friday 23rd January 

  • 7pm Welcome Reception at Guild Hall with Irish Festival Dancing, food and drinks
  • On return to the Hotel, a Five Jurisdictions Resident's Bar will be available for serious legal discussions.

Saturday 24th January 

  • 9:15am Conference to begin in the Hotel Ball Room
  • 7pm Drinks, Dinner and Dancing. 

The Academic Programme is being finalised and details will be provided to all delegates, but as a taster you will hear from the following:-

  1. Professor Dr Jens Scherpe Professor of Comparative Law at Aalborg University, Denmark and Emeritus Fellow at the University of Cambridge who will present a Comparative Paper on the Law of Cohabitation in the various jurisdictions.
  2. Ms Harriet Wistrich of the Centre for Women's Justice (London) and solicitor who will speak on legal issues connected with domestic violence.
  3. An Ancillary Relief session from KPMG on complex corporate structures, jurisdictional considerations in ownership assessment, minority discounts and practical realisability. These areas will be dealt with in a comparative way between the jurisdictions.
  4. A session on Generative AI and its use in Ancillary Relief cases.
