All principals, assistant solicitors and consultant solicitors in private practice are required to complete 2 hours of Compulsory Risk Management CPD during the practising year.  

The Law Society of Northern Ireland has designed a bespoke two-part Risk Management event delivered via separate 1-hour webinars to cover the 2025 Risk Management topics:

PART 2

  • Implementation of the Legal Complaints and Regulation Act (Northern Ireland) 2016 – What it means for you…
  • The new Solicitors Complaints Committee provided for in the Legal Complaints and Regulation Act (NI) 2016 is scheduled to come into operation in September 2025 and will replace the Society’s Client Complaints Committee. These new arrangements will apply to all solicitors in private practice. 

Completion of both these online webinars will lead to full compliance with the 2025 Compulsory Risk Management requirement.  Any additional Risk Management hours completed can be transferred into the Group Study category.
