Rowan White has retired from Arthur Cox Northern Ireland after a long and distinguished career with the firm.

 Rowan, who has enjoyed 48 years in the legal profession, joined Norman Wilson & Co in 1983 and was instrumental in its merger with leading Irish law firm Arthur Cox in 1996 when the firm was established in Belfast. Throughout his career, Rowan has been involved in many of Northern Ireland’s most significant and complex property transactions.

 In 2015, Rowan was elected to the Council of the Law Society of Northern Ireland and has chaired multiple Committees over the years. He was elected as President for 2019-20 and reappointed for 2020-21. Rowan was recently re-elected to the Council for a further three years. 

 Commenting on his retirement, David A Lavery CB, Chief Executive, said:  

“On behalf of the Presidential Team, Council and Committee members and the wider staff, we thank Rowan for his dedication to the legal profession and wish him a happy and fulfilling retirement. We are delighted that Rowan will continue to play an active role in the Society’s work going forward.”
