FINAL Fully Funded Climate Action Programme for Solicitor Firms – January & February 2026

The Society is pleased to open registration for the third and final fully funded Climate Action Programme, delivered in partnership with Business in the Community NI.

This unique, fully CPD accredited programme has already supported several firms to understand their carbon footprint, strengthen their ESG approach, and demonstrate leadership on sustainability.

We have streamlined the programme, reducing delivery from three days to two, and sharpened the content to focus specifically on the realities facing solicitors, including case studies and examples drawn directly from practice.

Participants will:

  • Achieve Carbon Literacy Accreditation

  • Measure their carbon footprint, including understanding the Climate Action Pledge, using a clear 4-step measurement guide, and applying good reporting practice

  • Set ambitious climate targets by exploring climate-related business risks, establishing Scope 1, 2 and relevant Scope 3 targets, and working through solicitor-specific examples

  • Develop a tailored environmental strategy, covering sustainability planning, assessing business and environmental impacts, and designing a forward looking strategy

  • Make a public Climate Action Pledge, demonstrating leadership within the profession
