Remote Attendance at Laganside Magistrates’ Court During the Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann (2-9 August 2026)
In light of the traffic and travel disruption anticipated in Belfast during the Fleadh festivities this week, temporary arrangements will apply in respect of proceedings at Laganside Magistrates’ Court.
Accordingly, during that period, legal practitioners and other persons required to participate in proceedings may do so remotely, without the need to seek prior permission from the court, in respect of:
- Remands;
- Mentions; and
- Overnight charge cases,
before the Criminal and Youth Courts at Laganside Magistrates’ Court.
In addition, legal practitioners and other participants may attend remotely, without prior permission, for mentions and review hearings in the Family Proceedings Court and Domestic Proceedings Court, unless otherwise directed by the presiding judge.
These temporary arrangements will apply only for the duration of the traffic restrictions associated with the Fleadh and do not otherwise affect existing requirements regarding remote attendance.
All participants attending remotely should ensure that they have suitable facilities to participate effectively and comply with the Guidance on Physical (in-person), Remote and Hybrid Attendance and on the any directions given by the court.
