The Law Society of Northern Ireland is pleased to announce PIPS Suicide Prevention Ireland as its 2026 Charity of the Year.
A non-government-funded organisation, PIPS Charity provides life-saving counselling and crisis support to individuals and families affected by suicide and poor mental health across Northern Ireland.
The Society will be raising awareness and funds for suicide prevention and mental health support through a range of activities and events across the year.
In announcing the new partnership, President Mark Borland said: “I am delighted, both personally and on behalf of the Law Society of Northern Ireland, to be able to partner with PIPS Charity as the Society’s Charity of the Year.
We are all more aware than ever of the mental health issues affecting our members and society as a whole. It is my hope that this partnership will shine a light on the support provided by PIPS Charity, will help raise awareness of their vital work and will raise significant funds to support same.
I would ask our members to look out for updates on events organised as part of this partnership and to join me in attending and raising funds and awareness of the lifesaving work done by PIPS Charity.”
Renee Quinn, CEO of PIPS Suicide Prevention Charity, shared:
“We are deeply honoured to be chosen as the Law Society of Northern Ireland’s Charity of the Year for 2026. This partnership shines an important light on the ongoing mental health challenges faced by individuals, families, and communities across Northern Ireland. Every conversation, every act of support, and every donation helps us to save lives and offer hope where it’s needed most. Together, we can make a real difference in preventing suicide and promoting wellbeing for all.”
Together, we will be raising awareness and funds for suicide prevention and mental health support through a range of activities and events across the year.
