The Law Society of Northern Ireland, Ulster University (UU) and the Litigant in Person Reference Group have created a Charter to assist lawyers, Litigants in Person (LIP), judiciary and court staff to build working relationships and encourage better communication and conduct throughout the cases in which they are engaged.
The Charter was successfully launched in Law Society House with members of the judiciary, profession, Litigants in Person and McKenzie Friends in attendance.
The Charter was warmly welcomed by all in attendance as a useful tool to assist with effective communication and participation between legal representatives and litigants in person within the court process.
This event comes after much work. Please see our dedicated page for more information on how the Charter came about, and to access the document: Effective Participation and Communication between Solicitors and Litigants in Person in Northern Ireland | The Law Society of Northern Ireland
