The Law Society of Northern Ireland is proud to partner with Business in the Community to support solicitor firms in taking meaningful climate action. 

We are offering fully funded places for solicitor firms to participate in Business in the Community’s #ClimateActionProgramme – a comprehensive and CPD accredited training opportunity that empowers organisations to reduce their carbon emissions and plan for a net-zero future. 

The legal profession plays a vital role in promoting responsible business and upholding societal values, and the Society recognises the importance of responding to the climate emergency. 
 

Through this initiative, we aim to:
Equip solicitors with practical tools to lead on environmental responsibility
Support firms in measuring, understanding, and reducing their carbon footprint
Encourage ambitious, public commitments to climate action
Ensure the legal sector plays its part in shaping a more sustainable future

Participants in the Climate Action Programme will:
Become Carbon Literacy Accredited
Measure and reduce their organisation’s carbon footprint
Set ambitious climate targets
Make a public Climate Action Pledge

Carbon Literacy Training – In person, Law Society House | 6 October (9:30 - 16:30)
Workshop 1 – Measuring Your Carbon Footprint | 20 October (10am - 12 noon, online)
Workshop 2 – Environmental Strategy & Target Setting | 27 October (10am - 12 noon, online)
