  • The lawful bases for processing data and special category data.
  • Other aspects to data protection compliance such as data protection policies, privacy notices, purpose limitation, international transfers.
  • Storage, retention, and secure disposal of files
  • How to manage data subject’s rights including the right of erasure as well as Subject Access Requests.
  • How to recognise and deal with a data breach and the steps which can be taken to mitigate against breaches.
  • Changes to the Data Protection landscape made by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025
  • How a solicitor’s use of AI might engage data protection law and what should be considered.
