The Law Society of Northern Ireland have released their most recent publication Youth Court Practice in Northern Ireland by Séamus McIlroy BL and John Mackell BL. The official launch took place on 6 February 2025 at Law Society House, Belfast, and both barristers were joined by family, colleagues and judiciary at the event.
This book is the first practitioner’s guide of its kind for the Youth Court in Northern Ireland. It is an important guide and essential reading for all practitioners in the field. As highlighted in the foreword by The Honourable Mr Justice Kinney, the youth court procedure is a “complex subject”, and this book is “well organised in structure and logical in its approach” allowing the reader “to identify areas of interest quickly and efficiently.”
The title forms a welcome addition to the growing number of NI specific texts published by the Law Society of Northern Ireland and copies can be purchased (£35) via the website.
